Noir Fiddlestix |
The
2010 Pinot Noir Fiddlestix is impressive in this vintage. Some of the
rougher, gamier notes typical of this vineyard have been balanced out, but
the wine still retains its trademark sense of structure and power. Vibrant
and alive in the glass, the 2010 is showing beautifully today. In 2010 the
Fiddlestix is a wine of true pedigree and complexity. |

Pinot
Noir Melville |
Pure
silk on the palate, the 2010 Pinot Noir Melville is arguably the most
refined, polished wine in this range. Dark shades of reddish/blackish
fruit, mint, ash, spices and flowers more floral overtones all meld
together beautifully. The 2010 is built on a core of serious minerality,
tension and silkiness, with perhaps a bit less volume than many of the
other 2010 Pinots. Rose petals and a hint of cinnamon add lift and an
attractive upper register to the finish. |

Chardonnay
Melville |
The
2010 Chardonnay Melville is a beautifully layered and impeccable white. It
is in balance from start to finish. Vivid and nuanced, the 2011 emerges
from the glass with crushed rocks, slate, lemon and pastry. The long,
textured finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. This is one
of the finest Chardonnays I have tasted from Bonaccorsi. |

Noir Cargasacchi |
Firm
tannins, subtle hints of game, tar, licorice and black cherries are some
of the notes that take shape in the 2010 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi. A
relatively big, structured wine, the 2010 is loaded with site specific
character with plenty of personality. At times the 2010 is somewhat
austere, as Pinots from this site often are, but its overall balance is
impeccable. |

Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard |
The
2010 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard takes some time to open up in the
glass. Black fruit, spice, menthol and licorice notes all flesh out as the
2010 shows off its mid-palate pliancy and highly expressive, racy finish.
With air, the 2010 is one of the more approachable wines in this lineup of
2010 Pinots. |

Noir Sebastiano |
Another
big, powerful, intense wine, the 2010 Pinot Noir Sebastiano is not quite
as unique as some of the other wines here, but it still boasts impressive
depth and richness. Black fruits, menthol, cloves and licorice inform a
big finish that is slightly attenuated by firm tannins that overpower the
fruit. |
